Welcome to Brandaofilms

My Name is Jon Brandao, I'm a teen filmmaker. My interest in Film and Theatre started at young age, Probably about 8 or 9 years old.

My fascination with filmmaking started with Nightmare Before Christmas, a film by Tim Burton. I'm still an avid collector of Nightmare Memorabilia. I also enjoy Horror films of all kinds, and the Star Wars Saga. My filmmaking started with stop action animation with Lego pieces or action figures, then I progressed to live action. 2005 was a big year for me. In July I attended NYU film camp for teens in New York City , I also entered a film contest with a team from NY sponsored by Doritos (Frito Lay). It was a online voting contest, and our team won! We were flown to Hollywood for a red carpet premiere. I also attend Musical Theater classes once a week. In August 2006 I attended Film Camp again, this time in Universal Studios Hollywood, CA. I had the opportunity to film on the Universal Studios back lot, Western Town. In 2006 I wrote an original movie series Mystery of the Medallion and Legend of the Medallion. I cast the movie with professional actors and a professional Cinematographer. The experience was absolutely amazing. We finished the principal photography in May 2007 and had the premiere in June 2007. I attend Farleigh Dickinson University (Madison).

I was named to the Who's Who among American High School Students in 2006 and 2007.

I currently own 2 trademarks. (Brandaofilms LLC and CondimentMan)

Fall of 2007 I received an award for a "save the environment" video I shot.

2007 I was added to IMDB (Internet Movie Data Base) for the movie Methodic, which I was Assistant Director/Production Assistant/Art Photographer.

April 2008 I was one the leads in the High School Production of "A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum". I played the role of Senex.

July 2008 and 2009 I taught a video editing class at my High School.

July 2008 I attended a 2 week film class run by Montclair State University.

April 2009 I played the role of Daddy Warbucks in the High School Musical production of "ANNIE".

May 2009 I was awarded the Mckelvey Entrepreneurial Scholarship toward my College Tuition.

I am currently attending Fairliegh Dickinson University (Madison Campus) as a Film major.

November 2009 I was hired to film "Behind the the scenes" for "An Affirmative Act" which will be released at the Hoboken Film Festival.
